Cornelis Jan Bor (Kees)
Kees Bor was born July 25, 1942 at Driebergen, The Netherlands.
After finishing elementary school, he went to work, since his father had passed away, when Kees was 14 years old.
From 1956 to 1971 he was employed at a painting company in his hometown, and from 1971 to 2002 Kees was manager at a senior citizens home in Driebergen.
He was married to Riet de Vries.
Kees was a self- taught artist. During his free time he was also taught by a well-known Dutch painter
Laanne in Zeist, The Netherlands. He also studied at the fine art academy Artibus in Utrecht.
Kees has mastered several techniques, not only water colours, but also oil painting, pen , charcoal and pastels. In each discipline he was very proficient.
After a short illness, Kees passed away at the age of 65, on Jauary 1, 2008 at Utrecht.
Mission
Kees Bor’s mission was to create art that captures the essence of life’s simplest moments, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty around them. Through his mastery of various mediums, he sought to inspire connection, evoke emotion, and leave a lasting impact on all who experience his work.
